@Zack37371 Hi and great question. Normally I recommend working out 3 or 4 times MAX per week, giving yourself 48 hours between sessions to recover. That’s often a good starting point for guys wanting to increase their size. Thanks.
@skinnygainmuscle true but i just find that splits help u really hit all your muscles harder ohh but i didnt know about the hormone release..cool
@piratelord99 For more advanced guys – who’ve been lifting for a while and have some muscle mass – then split routines might make more sense. But for skinny guys, full body workouts are excellent for gaining weight and muscle. These help activate the most amount of muscle fiber, trigger the greatest natural anabolic hormone release, and mean we can spend less time in the gym each week and still reap great benefits.
why are total body workouts better than splits for gaining muscle mass??
Good video, so how many times a week should i train my whole body (how many sessions per week?) im weighing approx 11 stone, very lean with lots of muscle definition and very low body fat. i just want a bit more size. wb thx-
@christianbaclao Yeah, I’d recommend a full body workout for the whole body in one session. (Training both upper AND lower body in each training session). That way you’ll hit all your largest muscle groups to stimulate growth. This is particularly effective when getting started, because it strikes that nice balance between hitting all the muscles you need to, and giving yourself enough rest and recovery between sessions. Thanks for your question.
Hey andy, are you saying to workout all the muscles in 1 session or are you just saying work out the whole body, period?
thanx, im very powerful, work out alot but am naturally skinny.
Thanks for your feedback P3SCI – If you’ve found a way that works, fantastic. However, full body workouts is still a great approach for skinny guys wanting to gain mass, bulk up and build muscle, but it’s not the only consideration to make. There’s a whole bunch of other factors including…specific exercises, order of exercises, rep range, workout duration, rest between sets, number of sets, workout intensity, pre-workout nutrition, post-workout nutrition, time between workouts etc.
